Science + Art + Design Workshop: Bioplastics

Investigate oceanic plastic pollution, what it means to be considered a “bio-based” plastic, and experiment with making sustainable, biobased alternatives to traditional packaging using plant materials.

Concepts: Pollution, Sustainability, Chemical polymerization
Social Connection: Action against plastics in the environment, and the role that estrogen disruption has on health
Method of Experiment: Mixing materials, using molds, and heating and cooling cycles to craft products or textiles.
