Wave Hill Exhibit and Public Programming Featuring works by Tahir Carl Karmali, Cannupa Hanska Luger and Lucy + Jorge Orta, Water Scarcity: Perpetual Thirst raises awareness about the issue of accessing clean water resources. In the Sunroom, solo exhibitions of new works by Kevin Quiles Bonilla and Anina Major foreground narratives of marginalized communities that are centered on sites of leisure and recreation as politically charged symbols of resiliency.

As part of their new commission for the exhibition Water Scarcity, Tahir Carl Karmali transforms the sculptural installation kiangazi, for an in-person sound experience. He will use digitally processed recordings from his research on environmental migration and climate degradation in Sub-Saharan Africa, weaving them together with heavy bass, noise and sounds of water to capture a sense of urgency around the precarity of the ongoing climate crisis.
