September Science Activism Events- March for Science, Climate Week ,UN Assembly, Mohn Science and SJ Family Fellows

From September 15 Through September 30th there are a number of events centered around Science and Justice. All events require RSVP.

September 15 1-2:15pm Sustainability Town Hall for Tishman Environmental Design Center – see ways you can get involved with Environmental Justice and Sustainability

Sept 15-30th Climate Week events hosted by TNS

September 23rd is March for Science Day and many organizations will be marching together to fight for policies and practices rooted in scientific evidence and rationale. They are looking for volunteers, marchers, etc

Sept 15-30th New York Academy of Science will co hosted events at the Science Summit at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA77). Sessions are focused on science and communication specifically health (online and in person). Academy President & CEO, Nicholas Dirks, will be offering a Keynote on the importance of “Following the Science,” as well as participating in the other three sessions. We encourage all Academy members and our broader community to attend this free event.

September 27th 5-6:30pm The Interdisciplinary Science Program will host an IS Meet Up in which two recent Mohn Family Science and Social Justice Fellows will present their summer internship work with two research and community based organizations: Uli Lindo at Biobus and Frankie Ackerman at Biobus and Urban Systems Lab.
